Novum Law recognised in prestigious Chambers & Partners Guide 2024
The team at Novum Law are delighted to be once again recognised as one of the best personal injury law firms in the South West by the leading, independent legal...
Annabelle qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and is a highly capable and dedicated personal injury specialist who is passionate about helping others who have sustained life-changing injuries.
She understands more than most people the devastation and trauma associated with being seriously injured, because as a young law student, she lost her leg when she was hit by a lorry while out cycling. As a result of what she has been through, Annabelle really understands what it’s like to have your world turned upside down by a catastrophic injury. She is able to help our clients navigate their way through the personal injury compensation process while dealing with all the conflicting emotions involved with coming to terms with a life-changing injury and a ‘new normal’.
As an amputee and a specialist personal injury solicitor with a particular interest in limb loss and amputation claims, she is able to offer people a unique perspective because she has been there and has experience of both sides of the table. You can read more about her personal journey in her blog or watch her tell her story.
Annabelle was recently asked to participate in case management firm Bush & Co’s podcast series ‘The Resilience Toolbox’. In the podcast, Annabelle talks to Helen Jackson, Managing Director at Bush & Co, about her harrowing experience of losing her leg and how she has managed to remain resilient in the face of such a catastrophic and life-changing event.
Annabelle is passionate about encouraging those who have been injured due to other people’s negligence to seek specialist legal advice and pursue compensation. She is hugely driven to always achieve optimum results for her clients and works hard to demystify the compensation process and provide as much help and advice as possible. She says:
“My experience of making my own personal injury claim made me realise the importance of securing compensation and rehabilitation. Compensation is not a windfall. It is about helping someone who has been needlessly injured to recover from those injuries and put their lives back on track.”
Activities and achievements
Annabelle is a huge inspiration to everyone she meets. She has not let her disability get in the way of what she wants to do. Since losing her leg, she’s continued her passions as a dancer and a qualified fitness instructor and she continues to regularly attend dance and fitness classes and teach. Annabelle is also a qualified PADI scuba diver.
A graduate of the University of the West of England and the University of Law in Bristol, Annabelle is an accomplished public speaker and has presented at several annual conferences about her story and her own experience of seeking personal injury compensation. She regularly supports initiatives to raise awareness of limb loss and amputation issues and recently backed the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers’ (APIL) Rebuilding Shattered Lives campaign to encourage people who have been seriously injured due to someone else’s negligence to get expert legal advice.
