Mr A sustained life threatening injuries as a result of a road traffic accident when Mr A was just 22 years old. Mr A was driving to work when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction attempted to overtake an articulated lorry resulting in a head-on collision. As a result of the collision Mr A sustained a number of serious injuries including a severe brain injury.
Despite catastrophic injuries, Mr A made remarkable progress with his rehabilitation and recovery and was able to move into his own adapted home (purchased via a substantial interim payment made by the Defendant’s insurers which our team secured).
Although Mr A was able to walk independently, he experienced a wide range of difficulties and would continue to do so for the remainder of his life.
Mr A’s claim was successfully concluded on the basis of the payment of a lump sum of £2.3 million together with annual payments for the remainder of Mr A’s life in the sum of £145,000 per year. The compensation is equivalent to in excess of £6.7 million on a lump sum basis.
