The latest edition of the highly respected Chambers and Partners Guide to the Legal Profession has just been published and specialist personal injury law firm, Novum Law, has been given the highest Band 1 ranking yet again for its outstanding personal injury expertise by the leading independent legal directory.
Novum Law’s specialist personal injury team have once again come out at the very top of their profession as the highest ranked personal injury law firm in Swindon and the surrounding area. The Guide describes the team as having: ‘a healthy presence across the South West, offering notable strength in industrial disease cases and catastrophic injury claims.’ The firm was ‘particularly highlighted for its experience in complex neurological injuries’ and praised for its ‘considerable expertise in assisting children who have sustained severe injuries.’
Individual specialist personal injury lawyers Huw Ponting, Neil Elliott and Anna Cole – all Directors of Novum Law – were each named as leading practitioners in their field for their outstanding work.
Huw Ponting retains his exceptional band 1 ranking as a specialist personal injury lawyer representing clients in complex and high-value neurological cases. He is described in the guide as bringing ‘a deep level of experience in the personal injury space when advising clients on a range of high-stakes, life-changing, traumatic brain injury claims.’
Neil Elliott, who heads up Novum Law’s Salisbury office, is rated as band 1 and is given special mention as a: ‘well-respected practitioner with considerable experience handling head and spinal injury claims. In addition to his personal injury work, he is frequently mandated on a wide array of clinical negligence cases.’ Clients extol his ‘compassion, empathy and knowledge,’ adding: ‘he does not just have knowledge of the law but knowledge of what could be done to support us.’
Anna Cole goes straight in as a band 1 ranked lawyer with her ‘wealth of experience acting on road traffic accidents, employers’ liability and insurance bureau claims. Her work covers ‘chronic regional pain syndrome, carbon monoxide poisoning and loss of chance claims, among others’.
Novum Law’s office in Southampton retains its excellent band 2 rating with a source quoted as saying: ‘the lawyers here are the most compassionate people that I have met in this profession’. Novum Law Partner Lynn Yeates, who is based in Southampton, is singled out for her specialist role in helping people with asbestos-related diseases and other serious respiratory conditions.
Thomas Sheppard, Chief Executive of Novum Law, gave his reaction to the Chambers Guide announcements and said: “It goes without saying that we are absolutely delighted with another top ranking in this year’s Chambers Guide. Personal injury is a highly competitive field of law so to be independently reviewed as the best personal injury law firm in the area is a major achievement and one which gives us an immense source of professional pride.
“The plaudits for our specialist personal injury lawyers singled out as notable practitioners for their talent, dedication, commitment and empathy for injured clients are well-deserved. It shows the strength in depth the team has and the level of excellence we’ve come to expect – which in no way diminishes their significant achievement. We never rest on our laurels and will continue to strive to provide the very best levels of service to our clients. Congratulations to all and I look forward to our continued success in the years to come.”
