Lisa Hendy, a Senior Paralegal from our Isle of Wight team, has triumphed for the second year running at the prestigious 2022 National Paralegal Awards.
Lisa has been crowned ‘2022 NPA Paralegal of the Year’ for the South following her success at last year’s awards when she scooped the award for ‘Community Champion of the Year 2021’.
The National Paralegal Awards, organised by the voluntary regulator for Paralegals, the Professional Paralegal Register, champions and rewards the fantastic work being done by talented Paralegals throughout the UK.
The annual event, now in its fourth year, provides an opportunity for the legal sector to recognise the tremendous contribution of outstanding Paralegals.
The NPA Paralegal of the Year is awarded to individuals that can clearly demonstrate how they have performed and exceeded client expectations and have made a significant contribution to their practice.
The judging panel was impressed by Lisa’s continuing and unwavering commitment to helping people and the Isle of Wight community through her work at Novum Law which supports those who have been severely injured or become seriously ill through no fault of their own.
Charities Lisa has helped over the years include the Wight Brainy Bunch, Daisy Chains IW, and Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Earlier this year, she organised a charity bake sale and coffee morning to raise funds for Mesothelioma UK, which helps terminally ill people with asbestos-related lung cancer, raising over £200.
Lisa says:
“I am absolutely over the moon to be recognised for the second year running at the National Paralegal Awards! I still can’t quite believe it, and I’m so thrilled to be ‘Paralegal of the Year’ for the South in recognition of my hard work and commitment to local good causes.
“I started in an administrative role at Novum Law, helping with the filing for a few hours each week when my daughter was small, and now here I am, a fully qualified, award-winning Senior Paralegal!
“I love working at Novum Law, and I count my blessings every day that I can give something back to the Isle of Wight community by helping and supporting local charities. I believe it’s so important to get involved in our community and help local people, which is why I volunteer my time to help charities my firm supports.
“Many of our clients have suffered traumatic brain injuries or spinal injuries, or have lost limbs in road traffic accidents, work accidents or through inadequate medical treatment. I love making a positive difference in their lives – taking time to listen, understand their needs, gaining their trust, and helping and guiding them throughout the practical steps of securing compensation, rehabilitation and extra care and support.”
Darren O’Sullivan, Director of Novum Law and head of our Isle of Wight team, said:
“We are incredibly proud of Lisa and her hard work, and dedication to our clients and the local community we serve. To receive UK-wide recognition at the National Paralegal Awards not once but twice, and for the second year running, is a massive achievement!”
