This year, the event will be a virtual day of learning, sharing experiences and coming together to learn from healthcare professionals and mesothelioma patients and their carers.
It will be an opportunity for everyone involved in the care and support of people with the asbestos-related cancer to discuss their experiences and meet others who are in a similar position.
Attendees will learn about the latest on mesothelioma clinical trials, treatments and research from clinical experts and hear personal stories from patients.
We are looking forward to a distinguished line up of speakers including:
- Ivan Cartwright, Area Coroner Leicester City and South Leicestershire – providing an overview of the Coroner’s Inquest
- Hannah Dye from Breathe Arts Health Research – on breathing and singing for lung health
- Barbara Murray Palliative Care Doctor, St Ann’s’ Hospice Manchester – discussing how to manage breathlessness
- Angela Tod, Professor of Older People and Care, and Dr Clare Gardiner, Senior Research Fellow, The University of Sheffield – providing a full update on the latest findings from the Mesothelioma UK Research Centre
There will be virtual lunch breakout rooms specialising in four areas related to mesothelioma and three question and answer panel sessions with the keynote speakers.

SWASAG marks Patient and Carer Day 2021
SWASAG (the South West Asbestos Support Awareness Group) has organised a special day at the St Mellion Estate Hotel in Saltash for patients and carers to come together to watch Mesothelioma UK’s virtual event.
