Specialist lawyers from Novum Law are looking forward to attending motorcycle charity DocBike Dorset’s first-ever charity ride-out this Sunday (26 September 2021).
Up to 250 bikers are expected to take part in a 30-mile route that starts at The Churchill Arms in Alderholt, Dorset and finishes at the home of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance at Henstridge Airfield, on the Dorset/Somerset border.
Novum Law is supporting the event and will meet and greet motorcyclists at the finish. There will be a selection of stalls to browse and a grand raffle with fantastic prizes donated by generous local businesses in Dorset.
DocBike is a national motorcycle charity working to eradicate motorcycle deaths through engagement, injury prevention, education, research and roadside critical care. All of the DocBike riders are serving doctors, paramedics or other medical practitioners who volunteer to help other motorcyclists as they know the devastation that can be caused by a motorcycle accident.
The clinicians often work at local hospitals and at their local air ambulance base, helping to provide first-class medical treatment for the most severely injured and sick patients and ensuring they reach the hospital alive.
DocBike is hoping that anyone who registers to take part in the event will also use the opportunity to raise additional much needed funds for the charity through sponsorship or make a further donation via the charity’s campaign page on Virgin Money Giving.
More money is needed to put more DocBike’s on the road throughout the country. It costs around £50,000 to put a bike on the road with all the lifesaving equipment on board.
Tim Blackwell, Director of Novum Law and a Trustee of DocBike, says:
“We are delighted to support this fantastic cause that does so much to help save bikers’ lives and prevent serious motorbike crashes. Over the years, as a specialist personal injury solicitor, I have seen for myself the untold suffering of motorcyclists and their families caused by preventable motorcycle accidents.
At Novum Law, we want to do what we can to raise awareness of DocBike and help make a difference to bikers’ lives through road safety education, training, and critical care, to end the heartache caused by serious and fatal motorbike collisions.”
Registration for the ride out costs £10 and includes automatic entry for one person into the grand raffle. Refreshments will be available to purchase from The Churchill Arms from 8.30 am – 10.00 am, with all participants needing to sign in for the ride out by 10.00 am.
The finishing point at Henstridge Airfield is set to be a fantastic occasion with music and delicious refreshments available to purchase from the onsite café.
If you would like to attend the ride-out, it is not too late to register! You can register here, but please don’t forget to read the event terms and conditions first.
