What are the most common farming accidents?
Over 300,000 people in Britain work in the agricultural sector today. Many farmers and farm workers were raised in farming families or communities and are proud of the rewarding work...
Novum Law is very proud to announce that its team of specialist personal injury solicitors are supporting DocBike, a national charity working to eradicate motorcycle deaths through training, education, and research into injury prevention and critical roadside care.
The financial support Novum Law is providing DocBike will enable the charity to jointly fund a PhD student, Shel Smith, who is carrying out vital research into preventing motorcycle injuries. Novum Law will also be fundraising throughout the year to provide much-needed funds to support DocBike’s initiatives.
The charity provides highly qualified doctors or critical care paramedics on motorbikes to reduce deaths and serious injuries among motorcyclists by providing emergency, critical care at the roadside.
DocBike works with emergency services across the UK and has close associations with air ambulance charities throughout the country.
Members of the DocBike team also engage with motorcyclists through Biker Down, which provides first aid training for bikers, and Bike Safe, a police-led course to help bikers avoid being in a collision. The goal is to provide the knowledge and training motorcyclists need to prevent accidents, and to help other bikers who have been involved in serious motorcycling accidents.
Tim Blackwell, Director at Novum Law, says:
“Motorcyclists only account for 1% of the miles travelled on the UK roads but make up around 25% of the deaths and serious injuries. More than 19,000 motorcyclists are injured every year in the UK. The amazing work that DocBike carries out is vital to saving lives and preventing serious injuries on our roads.
“We are very proud to do all that we can to support DocBike in their crucial life-saving work. The research carried out by Shel Smith is vital to understanding why accidents happen and what can be done to prevent them, and to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries.
“The goal would be to have a doctor or paramedic on two wheels in as many counties as possible across the UK. It would go a significant way to preventing the horrendous impact that accidents have on motorcyclists and their families.
“At Novum Law, we help motorcyclists and their loved ones who have suffered life-changing injuries in serious road traffic accidents. Our specialist team of personal injury solicitors provide the expertise and support to help motorcyclists rehabilitate and rebuild their lives when the worst happens.”
If you or a loved one has been involved in a motorcycling accident that wasn’t your fault, our specialist team of personal injury solicitors can help you receive the best medical treatment and rehabilitation available and secure maximum compensation, so that you get the justice you deserve.
