Novum Law is set to sponsor the biggest children’s character festival on the Isle of Wight this weekend (28 – 29 July 2018) to support children with long-term health problems, life-limiting conditions and disabilities.
The event is organised by the fantastic Isle of Wight-based charity, Daisy Chains IW, which aims to support Island children and their parents who need assistance with travel costs to mainland hospitals for vital treatment and care.
The charity also provides grants for special equipment and/or therapy to help children with specific needs and has just launched its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) boxes for premature babies. These boxes include all the essentials parents of premature babies need in the first few days following the birth of their child.
Over a thousand people from across the Isle of Wight are expected to visit the festival to meet more than 30 children’s favourite characters including superheroes such as: Spiderman, Batman, Super Girl, Wonder Woman, Ironman, Captain America and the Hulk.
Kids’ film favourites will include: Rapunzel, Snow White, Woody, Jessie and Buzz from Toy Story, Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Captain Jack Sparrow, one of the minions from Despicable Me, Merida from Disney Pixar’s Brave and many, many more.
The fun will take place at Brading Roman Villa in Sandown and there will be a huge amount of entertainment laid on throughout the two days to ensure everyone has an amazing time while raising much-needed funds for a very worthwhile charity.
Steppin’Out Boogie Bus will compere events which will include a super hero and princess dance off, Team Kinetix Hero Parkour, displays from Haven Falconry Bird of Prey Centre and Starlight Boutique Dancers to name a few.
There will also be lots of games and giveaways kindly donated by local island businesses as well as market stalls and a wide range of food and snacks to buy.
Darren O’Sullivan, Director of Novum Law, based in Newport, said: “It is an honour to once again be involved in such a fun-filled event supporting Island children and their families who need an extra helping hand.
“Daisy Chains IW does a wonderful job helping local families whose babies and children have been diagnosed with a life-changing illness, disability or long-term health problem to access the specialist equipment, treatment and therapies they need both on and off the Island.
“Putting on a two-day event of this magnitude involves a huge amount of behind-the-scenes organisation, so a massive ‘hats’ off’ to all those involved and a big thank you to everyone for their support. Here’s to another cracking Festival of Heroes and fingers crossed for a record-breaking amount raised for Daisy Chain IW’s essential work!”
Festival of Heroes will take place on 28-29 July 2018 at Brading Roman Villa, Morton Old Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight. The fun starts at 11.00 am – 5.00 pm. For more information, email: daisychainsiow@gmail.com.
