Lynn Yeates from our Southampton office will be scaling the dizzy heights of London’s foremost entertainment venue, The O2 next month to raise money for the asbestos support and awareness group, HASAG.
On the 9 November 2018, as part of ‘Team HASAG and friends’ Lynn will be doing ‘Up at The O2’ an exhilarating, 90-minute climb over the domed roof of the O2 building on a walkway suspended 52 metres above ground level.
Ascending all the way to the top of The O2 and kitted out in special climb suits, boots and harnesses, ‘Team HASAG and friends’ will be looking every inch the urban mountaineers as they scale the building without any help from a lift or escalator to ease their skyward journey.
All money raised from the event will go towards raising much needed funds for research and support to help people with asbestos-related diseases and their families.
Over the past 12 years, HASAG has successfully raised almost half a million pounds to provide support for those affected by exposure to asbestos.
It is hoped that the O2 climb will go some way to helping HASAG reach that half a million pounds fundraising target.
From offering practical information on benefits and compensation and providing a support network for sufferers and their families, to raising awareness of the dangers of asbestos and funding research into better treatment and care for asbestos-related diseases, HASAG represents a lifeline for many.
Lynn has long supported the work of HASAG and over the years, has helped to raise thousands of pounds for the charity. She is hoping that this next challenge will help her to raise yet more money and push that fundraising total even further.
On the day of the challenge, Lynn will be joined by Novum Law colleagues including Peter Hilditch and Alison Sayers from our Southampton office and Graeme Chisholm from our Bristol office, who will also be doing the climb.
