Novum Law is proud to support Road Safety Week 2022, which is organised every year by the charity BRAKE to promote safety awareness among Britain’s road users and prevent the risk of serious injuries and deaths in road traffic accidents.
The theme for this year is ‘Safe Roads for All’. It is aimed at bringing together as many people as possible from different communities and professional backgrounds to support everyone’s right to make safe, healthy journeys on our roads.
Campaigning for safer roads
This year’s BRAKE campaign will raise awareness of road safety including safe vehicles and speeds, the recent update to the Highway Code including the new hierarchy of road users and the importance of inclusivity to keep all road users safe.
There are three core elements:
- THINK about how you and other people can use roads safely to protect other road users as well as yourself, whether you’re driving, cycling, riding an e-scooter or walking.
- UNDERSTAND the benefits and importance of safe roads so that everyone can make safe and healthy journeys.
- REMEMBER road crash victims. Too many lives have been lost and serious injuries suffered due to preventable road accidents. Road Safety Week is not just about the present and the future – it is also about remembering crash victims and sharing their stories.
Novum Law encourages everyone to ‘Think, Understand and Remember’
Annabelle Turner is a specialist personal injury solicitor in our Swindon team. She has many years of experience helping people who have been involved in serious road accidents and says:
“Road accidents are devastating for everyone involved. Lives may be cut short. Severe injuries may be life-changing and turn crash victims’ worlds upside down. The impact on individuals and their families cannot be overestimated.
“We support Brake’s Road Safety Week to raise awareness of road safety issues and to prevent these senseless tragedies on our roads. Unfortunately, at this time of year, when the days are shorter, and the weather takes a turn for the worst, the risk of road accidents is statistically higher.
“We believe everyone should feel safe and confident on our roads, no matter their age, background or how they choose to get around. It’s our hope that Road Safety Week encourages young and old to think about their safety and the safety of those around them, understand the importance of safer roads and remember everyone whose lives have been affected by road crashes.”
At Novum Law, we help road accident victims every day and have lots of experience getting maximum personal injury compensation for drivers, cyclists, motorbike users, passengers, and school children.
We understand how challenging life can be after a serious road accident. Our road traffic accident solicitors can help you secure compensation, rehabilitation, care and support and justice in even the most difficult situations.
