Novum Law colleagues put their baking skills to the test last week for the annual ‘Muffins for Meso’ charity bake sale, raising nearly £300 in aid of asbestos cancer charity Mesothelioma UK.
Members of our specialist asbestos disease team came along to our Bristol office bright and early, bringing an array of enticing sweet treats, with flavours including banana and chocolate chip, Guinness and chocolate, chilli chocolate, and triple chocolate.
Visitors to our cake sale could also sample delicious doughnuts, biscuits, brownies, and flapjacks; some of which were kindly donated by local artisan bakery Cakesmiths.
A steady stream of visitors supported our Muffins for Meso bake sale throughout the day, giving our team the chance to talk about Mesothelioma UK’s valuable work.
Thanks to the generosity of donations received, Novum Law can proudly announce that our Muffins for Meso bake sale raised a fantastic £288, firmly beating our £150 target.
All funds raised will go directly to Mesothelioma UK, helping to fund the vital support they provide to asbestos cancer patients and their loved ones, whether through the provision of expert nurse specialists, the funding of groundbreaking mesothelioma research, or wider education about mesothelioma and its effects.
Asbestos cancer support for those who need it
Andrew Stinchcombe is a Director of Novum Law and a specialist asbestos disease solicitor based in our Bristol office. He says:
“Muffins for Meso is always an enjoyable event, and it’s been great to see how supportive everyone has been.
“Our asbestos disease team brought along a fantastic array of cakes to sell and share, which made it a fairly easy task to tempt hungry passersby. The resulting conversations with cake sale visitors who were perhaps unfamiliar with mesothelioma when they came across our stall meant that we were able to raise awareness of this devastating cancer and those affected by it.
“We are very grateful to everyone who chipped in and donated to Mesothelioma UK. The money raised will go towards ensuring that people affected by asbestos cancer can access the support they deserve, and that Mesothelioma UK will always be there for anyone who needs it.”
