Over 300,000 people in Britain work in the agricultural sector today. Many farmers and farm workers were raised in farming families or communities and are proud of the rewarding work...
This week (23rd – 25th January 2019) sees the start of the annual British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) conference which brings together around 800 delegates from across the globe to discuss all aspects of cancers of the chest and lungs (thoracic cancers).
Novum Law is delighted to be supporting and attending the much-anticipated three-day event in Dublin which will cover a wide range of topics including the latest developments on the treatment and care of patients with mesothelioma and lung cancer.
BTOG is now in its 17th year but its mission has always been to support and educate healthcare professionals. It achieves this by creating a community which exchanges ideas, information and innovations and fosters the development of new research. BTOG’s overall aim is to represent the needs of cancer patients and ultimately improve their outcomes.
Attending this year’s event will be specialist asbestos-related disease lawyers Lynn Yeates and Peter Hilditch from our Southampton office.
Lynn says: “BTOG is a must-attend event for Novum Law’s specialist asbestos disease team and it’s a conference we look forward to every year. Bringing together leading names in the field of thoracic oncology including: thoracic surgeons, oncology consultants, doctors, clinical nurse specialists and other healthcare experts, it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to keep up-to-date with the very latest developments.
“We get a unique chance to meet the talented people pioneering new, innovative treatments, putting faces to names and meeting some of the dedicated nurses caring for patients and their families every day.
“The pace of change in recent years has been nothing such of remarkable with clinical trials, immunotherapy treatments coming on board and new developments in the treatment of diseases such as mesothelioma, as well as new thinking on care pathways. BTOG helps us to stay on top of it all and ensures that we can advise and support our clients with asbestos-related diseases better as well as keep their loved ones informed.”
This year, BTOG 2019’s extensive programme will include symposiums and lectures on: radiotherapy, lung cancer diagnostics and screening, mesothelioma, immunotherapy, respiratory medicine, nursing and clinical trials.
It also provides healthcare professionals with valuable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification and is accredited and recognised by relevant bodies, including: The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom and The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
If you are attending the event, do come and visit our asbestos disease lawyers who will be located on Stand 6. We are holding a special BTOG prize draw and the lucky winner will receive an all-new Amazon Echo Plus!
