Novum Law has strengthened its team and extended its legal services in Southampton with the appointment of Director Tim Blackwell.
His appointment is a key development for the expansion of Novum Law’s Southampton office, which until now has focused on securing compensation for people who have been negligently exposed to asbestos at work or in the home.
Based at the White House in Cumberland Place, the Southampton team will extend its service offering to help people who have been injured in a wide range of accidents or harmed due to medical negligence, as well as those with asbestos-related illnesses.
Tim has a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of personal injury litigation. He has a particular interest in severe brain and spinal injuries, marine accidents, claims arising due to negligent medical care, and asbestos-related disease claims, including mesothelioma.
Over the years, Tim has handled highly complex, high-value cases and has taken numerous cases to the Court of Appeal and won. In addition, he has been an integral part of several notable cases during his career, including the Clapham Rail disaster cases and numerous complex marine accident cases.
Tim’s expertise is recognised by the leading independent legal guide, Chambers and Partners UK, which describes him as having “a broad practice covering traumatic brain and orthopaedic injuries as well as industrial disease cases.” He is also regarded as “experienced and dedicated to his clients.”
Tim comes highly recommended in the respected legal directory, the Legal 500, which states that he “leads on catastrophic injury litigation, with a focus on acquired and traumatic brain injury.”
He is an Accredited Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and a Trustee of the charity, DocBike, which aims to eradicate motorcycle deaths and reduce severe injuries through training, education, research, and critical roadside care.
Tim said: “It’s exciting to be joining Novum Law at a time when demand for its specialist legal services is growing. It is vital that people who have been seriously injured or harmed through no fault of their own have access to expert legal advice and are supported by a team that get them the justice they deserve and can help them receive the best medical treatment and rehabilitation available and secure maximum compensation”
Tim Robinson, Finance Director of Novum Law, said:
“A resounding welcome to Tim, who will undoubtedly be a tremendous asset to our Southampton team and the business as a whole. I am looking forward to working with him as we grow our service offering to help even more people who have suffered life-changing injuries.”
