Today marks the official implementation of the APIL/FOIL Guide to the Conduct of Cases Involving Serious Injury which is designed to assist with the conduct of personal injury cases involving complex injuries and specifically cases with a potential value on a full liability basis of £250,000 and above that are likely to involve an element of future continuing loss.
Approximately 40 Claimant law firms (including Novum Law) have signed up to the Guide along with the majority of the major insurance companies.
The Guide is aimed at achieving a collaborative approach between Claimant and Defendant representatives and with the objective of the parties working together, allocating tasks and narrowing the issues throughout the claim.
The Claimant is very much put at the centre of the process with discussions to take place at the earliest opportunity to ensure that a Claimant’s rehabilitation and treatment needs are provided for.
