The annual BTOG (British Thoracic Oncology Group) 2017 annual conference is set to take place on 25th to 27th of January at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.
BTOG is a multi-disciplinary group for professionals involved with thoracic malignancies, or cancers involving the chest/lungs, in the UK and Ireland. The flagship conference has become renowned throughout the UK and Ireland as the best thoracic oncology educational event to attend in the academic and medical calendar, regularly attracting around 800 attendees.
It supports BTOG’s mission to support and educate healthcare professionals, creating a professional community to exchange ideas, information and innovation and to share best practice as well as foster the development of research to help patients and improve outcomes.
A number of different professionals will be represented at the conference including: pharmaceutical companies, solicitors firms, asbestos support groups and mesothelioma and lung cancer charities.
As asbestos-related disease specialist lawyers, Novum Law will be on hand at the event to meet with doctors, nurses and researchers and to exchange information about the work we all do in helping patients suffering from serious thoracic illnesses.
The event kicks off on Wednesday 25th January 2017 with topics covering radiotherapy, and immunotherapy and throughout the three days will also cover all aspects of: respiratory medicine, a patient-centred approach to the asbestos-related disease mesothelioma and lung cancer treatments.
Novum Law Director and expert in asbestos-related disease Graeme Chisholm will be attending BTOG 2017. He says: “It’s always extremely valuable for us to have the opportunity to talk to thoracic doctors, nurses and researchers to ensure that, as legal professionals, we are fully up-to-date with the very latest medical developments and thinking and can therefore advise our clients appropriately.
“Attending BTOG is a must for us, not only from a learning perspective but it also represents a great networking opportunity to meet clinicians and colleagues from up and down the country and share best practice.”
