Mesothelioma & Asbestos Claim Client Story

Mr O of Newbridge, Newport started work when he was 15 at North Celynen Mine.  He worked all over Newport, Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol as a general labourer for several different companies, cutting asbestos insulation boards for roof work, including soffits and guttering. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma.

Liability was complicated due to the number of different employers he had worked for and the low level of asbestos exposure. Causation was denied as the biopsy was not conclusive and the Defendants maintained that Mr O was suffering from a benign condition.

They also tried to seek a reduction for the time when Mr O was self-employed. Despite all of these hurdles, Mr O was recently awarded £130,000 which meant he and his wife can make necessary financial plans for their future.
